For students who are considering a GED as an alternative to a high school diploma, please think again. Stay in school. Get that diploma. A GED tells potential employers that you couldn't stick it out to get a high school diploma like everyone else. No matter the reason. If you can swing it in any other way, get that regular diploma.

Our local community college offers the GED all year round with opportunities to meet with instructors all over the county. Classes are held in convenient places to meet the travel needs of some students. There are many reasons a student doesn't finish "regular" high school and the GED is a great alternative. I don't look at it as "couldn't stick it out". Rather, "oops, I messed up". "Time to get serious".
