    Math Teacher Jobs

Math teacher jobs are expected to be on the rise due to the fact that math is an inevitable subject in all the spheres of life. A math teacher assists the students in developing the abilities to think critically by enabling them to understand mathematical concepts. In the US, math teachers are generally required to assist students from pre-school years to teenage students. However, there is the option to continue pursuing the career of a math teacher by working with community colleges or other programs where adults are assisted to gain better insight into complex mathematical concepts. Even though an entry level math teacher requires just an undergraduate degree, an aspiring candidate can keep on climbing up the career ladder by acquiring more and more qualifications. Candidates can even go for degrees focused in teaching students comprising of a specific age-group.

Job responsibilities of a math teacher

The responsibilities and duties of a math teacher depends upon the age-group which the teacher opts to teach. If the students are of elementary school, the teacher has to assist the students in acquiring skills which would prepare them for handling more difficult curriculum as they move on to high schools and colleges.

Math teacher jobs, career options and opportunities

All States in the US require that math teachers should have a bachelor’s degree and a teacher certification to teach math as recognized professionals. Even if you are a graduate with insufficient educational qualifications, you can work as an intern under the supervision of an experienced teacher. A recognized elementary school teacher starts with an average earning potential of almost $49,000. It can go up as the qualification becomes higher. And other avenues of earning like personal tuitions and other jobs can be limited only by the personal qualifications and skills of an aspiring professional. Furthermore, with the expected surge of the trend of employers seeking candidates who have high scores in math, math teacher jobs are expected to experience a real boost in their job prospects and avenues.

Many areas of the U.S., especially inner city and rural schools, are in dire need of good math and science teachers. Extra funding is often available for those positions and teachers who fill the slots.
