Just for interest sake, did you know that dogs don't get "red eye"? They get "green eye" instead! Isn't that weird??![]()
I want to try attaching a photo just to see if it will work... please ignore my futile attempts to master such advanced technology!!
If this works there should be a photo of one of my dogs. I considered attaching a photo of my daughter wearing underwear on her headBut she would have killed me if she found out

*the first attempt didn't work - said the file was too big - I am trying again!

Dogs get green eyes? How strange. I wonder why.
When I first downloaded the picture, I didn't read through your post and found myself thinking - that Catherine ... she's really gone to the dogs. Imagine my surprise when I saw a picture of a real dog! (GRIN)
Here's a photo of me decked out as a pirate. I was teaching an integrated unit about map reading, fractional (pieces of eight), and wind as a source of energy (for sails in the old Spanish galleons).
Best wishes,
David
Hi David
I hope you enjoy your trip to Vancouver. As for the weather, expect anything! I just checked the forecast for this upcoming weekend. Friday a chance of flurries (7 C), Saturday rain and/or flurries (6 C), Sunday mainly sunny (6 C). Typically it is wet this time of year so your pirate hat might come in handy![]()
Good luck with the interviews! I don't know if England is a good idea though. My husband read in the paper (he's English and still reads all the English papers online) that the teachers there are thinking of going on strike. There have been some horrible stories in the papers about teachers who have come from overseas being treated really badly (by students, administration, etc. - mostly in the London area). You would probably be better off in Kent or Surrey. My inlaws live in Surrey. I would love to send you to visit them. I'm not sure what my snooty upper class mother-in-law would think of a teacher from Texas wearing a pirate suit though![]()

I was surprised to hear about administrative attitudes - but not too surprised ... and yes I agree - Kent or Surrey sound like my best bet.

When I used to teach in the outdoors, kids would come to my school for 3 days and 2 nights. It was a tremendous educational experience for them, but one activity I loved to do at night was "Spider Sniffing". Have you ever tried it?
First I would make up a stupid little rhyme, "Spider, spider I sniff you. Spider, spider I smell you. Are you high or way down low? Spider, spider soon I'll know." Then just like magic I would find a spider. Of course, I used a flash light placed next to my eyes as I sniffed with great emphasis. When I did this, I would look for little emerald spots in the forest. Amazingly, those were the eyes of the spider. For the rest of their time, kids tried to "sniff" spiders. I did tell them about the trick when they left, and it was reported many performed "Spider Sniffing" with their parents once they returned home.
I wonder how many animals reflect a green rather than red eye. What color are a deer's when caught in a car's headlights? Thankfully, I have no experience with that.
Your pictures are just lovely.
Any tips on how to get back to the first screen? I don't have any tool bars showing other than the browser stuff. I have to minimize the picture until I log off the site.
