Book lists

    hey all,

I need to find great links to book lists so I can keep up with the newest and best books available to suggest for our school library. any links and help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also looking for suggestions for some series books that our librarian may not have heard of since our kids are getting sick of the snickets and such that we currently have... the current standards.

    thanks!

My university publishes a list of choice books that our specialized cooperative children's book center every year. It is created by librarians and contains the newest books that are available and that are of high quality. Unfortunately, to get the newest year's edition, you have to pay $10 if you're not in Wisconsin. But the past editions are available online through this link-- http://www.education.wisc.edu/ccbc/books/choices.asp. You can find the past editions under the header "Past Editions of CCBC Choices" by clicking on the link "University of Wisconsin Digital Library". They have a lot of great books in there!

Hope this helps! Good luck in your quest.

As a former school librarian, here are some links to start with:

The best resource I ever used was "Titlewave," an online list creator used by Follett. You can narrow searches by publication date, subject, grade/age, awards and reviews, or any combination of the above. Your school/district has to have an account with them to use it, though.
