I like to include enrichment opportunities on our class website. We add what we do on a day-to-day basis in a capsule version. Parents appreciate having recommended websites their children can use at home as well.

I think having a class website is a great way to keep parents and students involved. I always post pictures of activities we are doing, and there is a daily blog of activities, homework requirements, and what the next days lesson plans are. I also use a gradebook application so that parents can see how their student is doing at anytime.

Our school actually requires that we keep a class website, and it must be updated at least once a week. I update mine daily though so I can post homework assignments, and little reminders about when tests are coming up or projects are due. The parent response to the website has been excellent!

Oh my gosh this is so cool! I am putting together a class website too. I am trying to focus on giving parents resources to help their kids over the summer. I am compiling a list. I found a really cool one today: www. math-games-and-activities-at-home.com, I think it will really be valuable. Any other sites anyone knows about it? I open....

That is actually useful and as we know kids these days are into computers that is why its the right time for them to expand their view on what they can see on the Internet. At an early age it is better if we instilled in them that aside from computer games and Facebook they can also use Internet for education purposes.

I keep daily assignments on my class page, however that can be a bit of a hassle to keep up to date. I also keep their spelling list and a link of educational websites we do in class. Three of their favorites are: ABCya.com, RoomRecess.com, and Coolmath4kids.com. I used to keep pictures of projects that we did in class as well, but no longer do that.
