Our primary school uses it and likes it. It is a quick assessment. It is FREE. It did not meet the needs of this builsding because it did not assess comprehension in an open ended manner. For primary it is a good assessment.
Is anyone familiar with the assessment DIBELS? I'm a second grade teacher and my school is exploring new options for assessing students. Any information would be much appreciated.

My new school/district uses it in the primary grades. I got to skip the training, since I'm teaching 6-8 for them, so I've never seen it.

I actually just found a great site on DIBELS and thought I would share. The address is http://dibels.wgen.net. It's a teaching community based solely on the assessment and a great resource for information on DIBELS.
