Does anyone teach in North Carolina?

Hello all! I just found out that my husband is getting a job in the Raleigh area. 8O I am wondering if anyone has any input, information or advice about teaching in this area? Any schools that you love? Hate? Districts to apply to?
I have taught for 7 years, the last 5 years teaching kindergarten in Texas.
    Thanks for your help!

I don't, but if you post your question on the Teacher Lounge board you may be more apt to get a reply.

I teach in NC. I'm in the foothills/piedmont region though- but there are some other folks that post here that are not far from that part of the state (or so I gather). Some of the schools are a bit on the affluent side for the state, some aren't. I don't have any specifics, though...put some traffic in the off-topic threads and you'll probably get a few replies! In any case, welcome to NC.

    NC

I live just south of Raleigh in Johnston County. I moved here 2 years ago and really like it. Wake and Johnston County always seem to be looking for teachers. Here are their websites:

I am from NC (Raleigh/Wake County) and teach 3rd grade. I can tell you it is really hard to find a job in Wake County but you have better luck if you are experienced. If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me.

Nikki: I taught in Winston-Salem about 100 years ago. My Mom, brother, and sister and their families live there now. It's really nice, because when I go down to visit them, I get to see Bitsy, another poster here, too.

I went to Cash Elementary, Ashley Middle and East Forsyth High.

    Hey Latully,

I don't spend much time on this board. Wag let me know about these posts.

Raleigh has some really good schools, but that's about all I know. Welcome to TF and to NC

OH, and I'm from Texas, but it's been ages. Both my kids were born there, but they are grown now.
