HELP! 1st graders not hearing blends

I have two first graders, one is LD, who can't hear the consonant blends. They can read the consonant blends and they can say them, but they don't write them. Like they aren't stretching out the word enough.

Any suggestions on what I can do to help them?

Not much occurs to me after my 12 hour day today, lol. But I did think about "stretching." Perhaps some activities that play with sounds, without worrying about letters, reading or writing; just separating, reblending, "stretching," etc. orally the sounds heard in words.

When they can do that, you can connect it to letters, reading, and writing.

Have you tried getting them to "sing" the word as they attempt to write it?
    That promotes the"stretching" a bit.
Also sometimes sound boxes help as they are getting started.
