    I need help...any opinions...

Hi. My name is Lyndsay and I am a senior in high school. I am headed to Lycoming College to major in elementary education. For my current advanced public speaking class, i have to go read a book to 2nd or 3rd grade. the book I have chosen is Curious George gets a Job, but I need a motivational introduction. I can not seem to think of one. As a conclusion I was going to have the children draw a picture of what they wanted to be when they grew up. Is this a good idea? if anyone had any comments or suggestions, please reply and let me know.. thank you so very much!

    Hi, Lyndsay!

You're idea sounds fine to me. Some suggestions for introducing? Before reading:

Ask them what it means to be curious; have them share times that they have been curious.

Ask them what they know about curious george. Let them share. Ask them if they've noticed a pattern in curious george stories; what usually happens when george gets curious?

Introduce title of your book; what do they think george will be curious about in this story? What will probably happen? Let them predict.
