Young People’s Press is a North American news service that empowers a large network of youth and young adult writers to have a voice in the mainstream media. YPP articles have been published in approximately 220 newspapers in Canada and 300 papers in the United States as well as on many Internet sites. YPP is a not-for-profit organization.

With that being said, I wanted to make high school English teachers aware that YPP is launching its 1st Annual High School Newspaper Contest. The competition is open to all high schools across North America. We are offering a $500 Grand Prize for Best Newspaper as well as cash prizes for the following categories:

Best Feature Story
Best Op-ed
Best Photograph
Best Editorial Cartoon
People's Choice Award - Humour
