    ideas on a novel to teach 10th graders?

    does anyone have any ideas on a good novel to teach 10th graders that fits into the theme of "the community and the individual"? any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks

    I like plays by Arthur Miller that address this topic. All My Sons is a great play about a father that knowingly sold faulty plane parts to the gov't during the war. His dissallusioned son learns of this and there's an explosive conclusion.
