If you've watched Donald Trump's "The Apprentice" on television, you might even pattern an activity after his way of having the teams appoint a project manager and go from there. If it works on television, it can work in the classroom. Students will have fun modeling themselves after the celebrities they've seen and perhaps pick up on some of the things that work in team projects.

I don't like the idea of using instruments or making students sing (if they do not want to). I would make that an optional part of the assignment and have them use music that is already established or a familiar melody. The focus should not be on the performance but on creating the song and learning about the wars.

I love this idea. Do divide them into groups and have them perform their song when everyone has finished. You could be on to something here for a talent show, or at least a great activity for next year.
