Aw! Love your pics, Tabz, especially your fish :) I miss my little sushi, and tsunami, so I loved seeing a fish pic again

Don't cats always look so elegant? You almost feel like you have to pay them to take their photo :)

Here is the old beast, Zacchaeus. He's sleeping right now, only in Grandma's chair. He got to see DS as he came home long enough from camp to eat, shop, and do his laundry.

He is part blue heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) and fox terrier. So I said he was a blue heller and fox terror as a puppy!

The are all cuties! Do they all get along with each other?

I have never seen chinchillas. What do they eat? How much do they cost? I see they are housed separately.

Shortie gets along with Buddy & Max. Dozer is only 4 months so he thinks the cats are a neat toy. Fuzzy only gets along with the dogs & Shortie on her terms. And no other four legged critter is allowed in the chin room.

Some of the chins get along together. We have two cages of 4 living together (Mom & daughters in one, brothers in the other) 2 cages of 3 together (Sisters & daughter in one, dad & sons in the other) 1 cage of 2 together (life mates) and 3 cages of 1. Yes that is 19 of them. They cost different prices depending on whether you get them from a pet store or a breeder and depending on their color. Their diet consists of chinchilla pellets that are high fiber, low protein and fat. Their fun. I'll post more pics of the different chins when I can get the fur balls to sit still. My last computer died and I lost all of my pictures there were some good pics of the chins playing and showing off so I have to find time to spend in there to get new ones.

bustergirl! I love the photo of your cat in your handbag!! Our cat "angel" Will find anything to sleep on. Once I found her curled right up on a napkin!! She could even fit on it, but she had to lie on it. She does that with other strange things too. Any paper or things left on the floor, she wasn't to sleep on them!

I love seeing everyone pics!

Here is Milo the Black Bear Hamster on his first birthday. He's a nice little fellow and very friendly. He had quite an adventure a few weeks ago. One night, we think the dog jumped on Milo's cage and Milo escaped. The next morning, great angst from the Boy "Where's Milo?!?" We heard rattling and scurrying in the air ducts which were open because we were renovating our kitchen. MrBunny found him at the air intake grate at the back of the house and the only way to get him out was to cut the grate while the hamster was madly trying to chew at the heavy metal wire. We like to think he was trying to help MrBunny. When the grate was opened, he came willingly into our hands and received a raisin for his trouble.

Awww how cute! Son had a series of hamsters. His two dwarf hamsters did not make it to move to this house. The hamster from h e c k would chew on the metal and was an escape artist. I had son put a plank from the floor to the top of his tank with yogurt drops leading a path. It worked! That creature lived forever.

When my kids were growing up, we had a flower bed in the front yard and a dripping faucet. There was a family of Ring Neck Snakes there and there was a fresh bunch every spring. For those that don't know, they are a harmless variety about the size of a large pencil with a ring around their necks and NO TEETH.

Well, a few years later, my wife was starting a new year in a country school in a very small, country town. When she entered the room, she knew something was wrong as the kids were too quite. She opened her desk drawer and there was a Ring Neck. She closed it and acted as if nothing was wrong.
Of course one boy had to ask, "Did you see something?" To which she looked down, re-opened it and began picking up things while looking puzzled and said, "No, just my grade-book, my calculator, the snake, my .....".
She said it was one of her early bad mistakes as the boys only groaned but the girls ran from the room and some jumped out of the windows screeming wildly.
She said she learned to never do that again...... whew!

Wow Tom! They are gorgeous snakes! I'm guessing they are American only snakes as I've never seen one of those in Australia!
How big do they grow?
My sister keeps black headed pythons which are a real beautiful and expensive breed. I'll have to show her this one.

Have a nice day!

Are you all still keeping up the pet thread? It seems that all the posts I can view are from 2005 and 2006?

Is there a more up to date area for pets now, or has everyone lost interest?

Kara
