There is a current controversy in higher education about whether Early Decision for college(a pratice of applying to only one colle before an early fall date with the understanding that, if accepted, the student will enroll)is good or bad for the student. There seems to agreement that the practice benefits the colleges mostly. So far the discussion has centered on the media, the colleges,and guidance counselors. I would like to have comments from high school teachers on this topic.
