    Educational Benefits

I'm searching for a dissertation topic along the lines of educational benefits at colleges and universities, and how the entire range of employees (hourly, staff, administrators, faculty, etc.) use them, want them, are constrained from using them, want something they are not currently getting, actually benefit through promotions or lateral transfers because of more education/training, etc. Any ideas on how I can present this idea in the best light, and with enough depth that it will be at least tentatively accepted by my advisor? Does this sound like a reasonable idea?

    education for staff & students

As a member of the staff at a very large university in California I can assure you that professional development is as important to us as it is to many of the undergraduates. Our university's commitment to staff development is one of its best incentives for staff retention.

    question for April

I'm curious about what sort of pd is provided for adjunct faculty. Also, if your university offers online programs (I'd be surprised if it doesn't), what sort of pd is provided for adjunct online faculty?
    Thanks,
    Leslie
