Recommend me algebra learning software please

I am nineteen-years-old, and I am nearing the end of my first semester in college. I am going to fail math.. again.

This is like a repeating story for me. I enjoy math, but learn it very slowly. Teachers cannot afford to go slowly in preparation for The Big Test, so I always end up getting left behind. I managed to avoid taking math courses in High School by going to a vocational program that gave me math credits without teaching me the math, but I can't evade it anymore.

I was thinking that educators would be my best bet in recommending software. I am currently looking at Algebra Solved! 2005 but I am not sure how good a program it is.

    Any suggestions?

My suggestion (although I have none about software) is to start asking "Why" when working on math problems. The "right" answer is the least of your concerns if you don't know WHY it's right.

In college, there are thousands just like you in your classes. Look around, form a study group, and all of you can learn to learn together. Ask yourself why, and if you can't answer the question, ask one of your study group partners why. If none of them can tell you why, then go to the professor.

I hope you find a software that works for you. Do try to study group (don't be afraid to tell the other students you are lost. Chances are, many of them are too.) If nothing else, you should hire a tutor. It is much cheaper AND more effective than taking the same course over and over again.

    Best of luck!
I've heard that four out of every three people have trouble with fractions.
