    I'm ready!

I'm ready to go back to school and get my room back in order. It's a blank slate right now, and we have open house on July 30. I was supposed to go work this week. Guess what? My room isn't going to be ready until FRIDAY, and they are supposed to wax the hallways next week!

My room isn't going to be ready for open house! And I'm going to have to work weekends and nights to even get it ready for the first day of school.

    Sigh.

Normally they get my room finished pretty early because I like to get in my room and work through the summer. Well, this year they aren't getting my room until the very, very last. I hate to think that it is because they are upset with me, but considering that I also rarely got my room swept, had the same trash bag for 4 months, and had to pay someone to mop my room after hours . . . I'm on the bad side.

Lucky me was on the hiring committee when we hired the new custodian, who does a GREAT job of cleaning. They wanted a man--one of their buddies. However, we hired someone else . . . and they are not happy. It's getting ugly. It's not that she isn't doing the job, but that they wanted someone else. I feel bad for her, and I certainly feel bad for myself because I'm getting the shaft!

    OK . . . I've complained enough!

    Re: I'm ready!

    This is it for me.

I got a call at the end of June to let me know that I was moving my classroom. 8O I spent 2-3 days a week through July packing and moving, and 2-3 days a week in August unpacking and setting up. They'll pay me for 1/2 a day.

I'm mostly ready to go, and looking forward to seeing my kids this morning.

I'm sorry you are bearing the brunt of good-ol-boy disgruntlement.
