    Left alone . . .

I left my darlings with a sub today so I could attend the most boring meeting of my life. Poor DH went with me, and he was not only bored but aggravated with the people behind us who complained about the whole thing. Oh, and when they weren't complaining, they were talking. Ugh!!

And just in case it weren't bad enough to have to go to the meeting, they had it WAY away from my house and it rained the whole time.

I hope the kiddos did OK. They've been with a sub 1/2 day but I was in the building. I had enough plans that the kids could have taught the class themselves, and I'd also given them the "proper sub behavior" speech. I even arranged to farm out some of my most, ummm, challenging students from my 4th period all-boys group to make things easier. Then at 3:30 this morning I bolted awake thinking "oh my goodness, I didn't plug in the cord for the wireless mic system!" I fell asleep at 9:30, and I can only sleep in 6 hour times for some reason . . . so there I was at 3:30 thinking about mic cords. So, I was on the phone at 7:30 this morning calling the assistant principal to go plug in the cord for me. His office is right next to my room, so he knows how anal I am about things.

I can't get my email, so I don't even know how things went today. I guess I could go to school tomorrow to pick up the notes, but I think I'd rather just wait. Otherwise if one of them DID do something goofy, I'll fume over it all weekend.

Considering that it was dress up day, the kiddos did fine. My sub was my third grade teacher!
