    Anyone home??? Quiet forum!

Boy, has this place ever been quiet lately? Let`s not all stand idly by and let this keep up.

Here`s my plan for getting new people on the board.

Take the time today to sent the link to this board to at least 5 of your co-workers or teachers that you know. Let`s see if we can cause this community to grow and become THE most important board on the internet.

Another thing you can do it submit this site to someone who does a web-site of the day page. I`ve already submitted it to at least one mailing list and will submit it to another today.

There are a lot of different boards out there, but this one seems to have it all.... and it also has the best format.

So take the time today (DO IT NOW!) to send a message to your co-workers and friends and see if they`ll pop in for a visit.

Let`s build this online community and develop new friendships.

I used to post a lot at the student teacher's board at teachers.net and noticed that the postings were always cyclic in nature.

Student teachers and novice teachers posted at the beginning of the year in September. They also posted in January, at the beginning of the semester. As they gained experience they left the student teacher board and either began posting in other parts of t.net or they stopped visiting the site altogether.

I wonder if teacher focus will be the same? The student teachers and novice teachers will "grow up" and (sniff-sniff) leave us. But if we wait long enough, a new "group" will come through our cyber-doors and we'll be busy once again.

Ah well ... for me the quiet time has been a boon. I've started spending more time in other forums.

P.S. Errr ... this is not to say that I don't appreciate your initiative. I do! Thanks for starting a new thread. (GRIN)

I don't know about other places around the world but here in Canada it is report card time! UGH! That is probably having an effect on how much time people have to spend on-line. It will soon be Spring Break though. Of course that will mean I will be away for 10 days - YIPPEE! I am off to Mexico for a week with my family for a celebration for my mom's 60th birthday! We are all spending a week together outside of Cancun. I can't wait. I'll be thinking of you all while I am lying on a beach in the sun

    Hi Catherine,

Tell me about it! Report cards were handed to students yesterday and tonight is parent-teacher interviews.

They`re forecasting a snowstorm here tonight so it may end up being pretty quiet. I`ll keep my fingers crossed. Besides, I gave all my students A`s to keep the parents happy. Just kidding!

And in Texas we just finished the last round of state practice tests for the TAAS examination. The state exams will be held in April.
