Hi,
I'm considering a career change into teaching. I THINK I would like to teach (high school math), but I'm not sure yet. As a starting point, I've been reading "Secondary and Middle School Teaching Methods" by Leonard Clark and Irving Starr to try to get a "feel" for all that's involved before I start talking other teachers. It seems like a pretty good text that covers alot of territory and seems to have been around for a long time, it's in its seventh edition, if that means anything.
My question: Is anyone familiar with this text, is it still in use, is it worthwhile to study or are there better books available that cover the full spectrum of what teaching is all about?
Thanks,
Walt
