The state (which is the body that issues licensure) is the only entity with which you need be concerned. If the state recognizes the college from which you take your licensure coursework, it really doesn't matter if anyone else does.
Hello,
I have my bachelors degree from Kenyon College and am looking to go back to school for my teaching certificate (I have always had a passion to teach Spanish). My question is... As I look into places to get my certificate, how important is the name recognition of the school? I need to get my certificate and student teaching done in one year and the only place in Chicago I have been able to find that can do this is National-Louis University. I don't know a whole lot about National-Louis and don't really know if the name brand recognition for a teaching certificate is important.
Thanks for any advice to a future teacher.
Sarah
