If so - where you live would depend upon how much of a commute you'd be willing to make.

Unless you know somebody in the Dallas area who can recommend nice places to live (within your budget), I would recommend that you contact an apartment referral service. These people usually get paid commissions by apartments for referring tenants to them. They would know the area well and would also be able to help you find suitable accomodations that would fit your budget.

Dallas is a big area! I don't know which part you will be living in, but if you are on the east side, the Garland-Rowlett area is nice. We just bought a house in Rowlett and I work for the Garland Independent School District. We lived in Mesquite in an apartment for a year too...not too bad. We thought that Richardson was kind of pricey for us--teacher's salary and all! I hope this helps, and feel free to contact me with specific questions any time!
