Young Adult Literature - any suggestions

I just finished teaching 10th grade for a semester and I tried Literature Circles with them and it worked really for the first set of books - Literature Circles consisted of 4-5 different books and the students got to pick out which title they would like to read most and second most. Then I assigned them to one book based on their choices and for several weeks they read that book along with 3 or 4 of their classmates. We only did this on Fridays and after they read, they'd have a group activity based on the novel. Like I said, the first round went really well because I used young adult novels that I thought they'd like (titles included: Cut, by Patricia McCormick, Monster, by Walter Dean Myers, Make Lemonade, by Virginia Euwer Wolff, and Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi). I tried to unify the books by selecting novels that were written in other formats rather than 1st or 3rd person. So when it came time that they were finished with those novels, I selected novels based on movies which ended up being really difficult and the kids didn't really like it all. I really believe that is was the selection of the books rather than the activity that led the whole thing to fall apart which brings me to my actual question -
are there any suggestions for young adult titles that are appropriate for 9th and 10th graders?
any ideas where I can buy books in bulk cheap?
I belong to Scholastic book orders but I never can tell if the books will be too easy for high schoolers since most of the orders are for grades 7-12.

Thanks!
Books I use, and books the english department has are:
NB: These probably are all NZ or Ozzie books because we have to slant our teaching towards "a NZ perspective"

Tomorrow when the War Began by John Marsden (year 10) NCEA suggests it for year 11. Link to unit: http://english.unitecnology.ac.nz/resources/units/tomorrow/home.html
Letters from the Inside by John Marsden (year 10)
Bridge to Terabithia by (someone) you can tie in with movie unit now too
I am not Esther by Fleur Beale (year 10)
Winter by John Marsden (year 9) Really not much depth though
Under the Mountain by Maurice Gee (year 9) not much depth, but filming starts soon so could be better as a film unit
The Raging Quiet by Sheryl Jordan (year 9 but I would use for year 10)

There is a list on unitech somewhere... but I can't find it for the life of me right now. But here is the link to it. It's well worth looking thrgouh

Here are some others I like . . .

Speak--Laurie Halse Anderson
Crossing Montana--Laura Torres

Geez . . . my mind has gone blank. I love young adult fiction.

Shooter - Walter Dean Meyers (btw, if you do that same lit circle again based on non-traditional narrative forms, this would be great... it's written through journal entries, police reports, and interviews)
The Freedom Writers Diary
Elsewhere - Gabrielle Zevin
the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer (my kids love 'em)
Wicked Lovely - Melissa Marr
anything by Sharon Draper
My Sister's Keeper - Jodi Picoult
Looking for Alaska
Acceleration

I haven't read all of these books, but these are ones I frequently see my 10th graders reading.
