Math worksheets

As a new teacher, one of the hardest things for me to do was to prep for a day when I was going to be absent (sick or workshop). I came into a new classroom and the previous teacher was no longer around to guide me.

Sometimes you`re just looking for some plain worksheets to hand out to the kids while you`re away.

I discovered this neat little program that can provide you with customizable math worksheets in seconds. It`s a program that you install and highly superior to any online worksheet creator I have yet to see.

You can prepare worksheets in many different areas, and each workshet is fully customizable. Also, it automatically prints out an answer key for each worksheet.

It`s called mathworksheetfactory and it is available for download at http://www.worksheetfactory.com/

You can download the lite version or the deluxe version on a 30 time trial. You pay for it after the 30 free uses. It`s a great little program and I recommend it highly. They also have a vocabulary worksheet program, and a word search program, but I haven't had a chance to play with these.

If you are stuck behind a firewall and can`t download it, send me an email and I`ll email you can install. The file is quite large though so I wouldn`t recommend it if you`re using a dial-up modem.

    All the best.

I agree with your assessment of worksheet factory. I used this program when I taught middle school and loved it.

    Re: Math Worksheets

If you don't want to have to create the worksheets- even with software, there are a lot of sites that will generate them for you. To find a list of sites that create worksheets, go to http://www.kidsdomain.com/brain/math/webworksheets.html .

What a great thread!!!! I almost never look at Science and Math since I teach tech, and it can be hard to integrate math, but I am so excited to see these sites to pass on to my staff
