Hi:

I teach an environmental unit on storm water management at an elementary school in California. We measure the area of our school and then calculate the volume of water that the school receives from rain each year.

In order for this to be meaninful instruction, the kids really need to understand what it means to measure volume. They also need to understand what an "inch of rain" actually means.

I'm looking for videos or lesson plans which can help 5th graders understand these concepts. Any ideas?

Thanks.
