Sounds like the study of defects. Also sounds like you're trying to plug a personal website, which isn't allowed here.
I've heard that four out of every three people have trouble with fractions.

I ve asked that question because i am the student of Defectology faculty in Belgrade (Serbia & Montenegro). It is something like special education but diferent in many ways. Do special educators know for our sience, have some of them made contacts with some defectologyst and if so what are thair expiriencis.

I am also intrestid to continuing my studies in Canada. If someone have interesting info about possibilities for doing that i would be very happy to hear it.

Also i what to hear your opinion about word defectology. Is it discriminating, segrgative, or its use is ok ?

For moderator : I removed link. There is no use for pluging my site bacause its on Serbian languige. Sorry

This looks like an old post but I'm going to try anyway. When I hear defect, I think of something that needs to be fixed or replaced. Defcetology is just an extension of that.

My child, is not defective, does not need to be fixed, and I don't think he can be replaced nor do I want to.

In other words, I don't like the term but then again, I'm not real into labels to begin with. Frankly, label him purple for all I care so long as he needs are being met. Meeting his needs does not mean trying to fix or cure him.

If one defecates, one is emitting excrement. Therefore, defectology is the study of excrement!

Well, I actually think about the Defectology college. I thought it was closed down? I heard your exams were extremely easy and the books were the size of a journal notebook...

    Way to go Zeljko!
Why not close down all the institutions that work with disabled people while we're at it?
Or whom do you intend to place to work with the people?

Anyway, sorry to all for the offtopic. Just due to the pejorativness in the name "Defectology" there are big debates of weather and how the name should be altered (so far "Special Education and Rechabilitation" has the lead).

One thing I would like to keep in mind that we all do the same (or similar) work, no matter the name.

    Easy?

Nor the Faculty neither the job itself are easy, uncontrtary they are very hard if you take it seriously.
