I hate to admit this, but the reading teacher in me said, "Hey, that should be In stunk!" Now, that's bad.
Once upon a time there were two little skunks named "In" and
"Out." They lived in a hollow tree with their mother. Sometime
In and Out played outside, but other times they played inside.
One day In was out and Out was in. Mother skunk told Out to
go out and bring In in. So Out went out and in a few minutes
he came in with In.
"My my, Out," she said, "How did you find In so quickly?"
Out just smiled and said, "Instinct."

Hey bananas -- love the jokes!! Could you start a thread called jokes and just keep adding them on the one thread? I seem to be getting the new posts all mixed up with all the jokes -- probably because I need bifocals and can't wear them cause they make me sick to my stomach!! So I'm looking through all the list of new messages sans glasses![]()

I was going to do that to start, but then it seemed like I would be doing it wrong. Thanks for the guidance!!

So what do I do about bifocals? Anyone else have this problem about not being able to wear them? I'm tired of swtiching glasses all the time from reading to distance (which I only use to drive and watch tv).

I get lenses which have a progressive bifocal built in the lenses so there is no line. It drives me crazy, and I am crazy enough with to start with. I use the computer a lot, so this type of bifocals works well for me. I must be able to look up and see what is going on in my room, without having to change glasses. I decided to get lenses which also darken outside, and lighten up inside.
I have very little spacial/visual skills, so mapreading/navigating has been one area in which I am very poor. I tell my students that would be my learning disability.Since hubby grew up with the adult in the passenger seat being the navigator, that has been ingrained in him. It was an omen on our honeymoon when he went past the exit, handed me the map (folded up, mind you), and asked if we needed to get off there. By the time I unfold a map and orient myself with it, we are in another state. We are going on 30 years of marriage, and he is just starting to understand that the skills will not magically appear just because I am in the passenger seat.
We are a hoot together. He likes to hear directions in the direction we need to turn, and I do not have a clue. Especially if the sun is not out in the west. I can tell him he will need to turn right or left, but he asks back if it is north, south, etc.
He has finally realized that taking the dirt roads really are not shortcuts and do not save time. There is usually no one to ask directions. He would hand me the map, and he knows that the dirt roads are not on state maps.
Now, I have him broken in with aging eyes. If I know the name of a road we need to turn on, I cannot see the words on the sign at the speed we need to travel at to turn in time. I catch it as we go by, so we at least know we need to turn around. I am greatful for that.
Add bifocals to that?! I cannot read a map with them, even new lenses. Just cannot do as well, so the glasses come off. Of course, once I get my bearings on the map, I have to put the glasses back on to try to read the signs to read where to turn. When I need to look at the map again, I have to spend a few minutes to become reoriented again.
Now, the simple solution in my eyes is for me to do more driving, but hubby is one who makes a good backseat driver. No one drives as well as he does. But, that is another discussion.

LOL Bananas traveling with your hubby sounds just like traveling with mine!

anywhere without me. Can I turn right on red here? Has the speed limit increased to 65 MPH yet? Have we passed Queen St?
He doesn't know how to read some sign from what I can tell. hee hee
