Keeping my fingers crossed for better weather and a job Zhel!
... until the end of this heat wave... 8O so I will be able to finally go outside...
It is supposed to end in a magnificent  storm on Monday evening... then on Tuesday there will be a soccer match of high risk in our city :?
Oh, yes, :P by Monday evening I will probably know my chances at the two schools I sent my application to... (it is day when teachers report back and when the admins open the applications and choose whom to call for interviews). I already know that one of the interviews will be on Thursday. I just hope that the second one is not also on Thursday; as the schools are 2.5-3 hours apart (in opposite directions from my place) there is no way I would be there on both on them. At the same time I will know the news about the school where the teacher had the hip operation. The principal said something that might mean that the other position is vacant now???
So this uncertainty is very stressfulI just hope that I will be in good health for the physical if any of the schools chooses to take me.

We know the sweaty feeling of heat waves. The temps have been cooler this week, but the humidity has been bad.
I hope all turns out for the best for you, Zheljko. I know you are hoping to be hired, and you have a passion in Science. Let us know later in the week how the interviews/openings go for you!

I hope you find something permanent. Your posts indicate that you are most likely a fine teacher. I'll be watching to see what happens.

Something like a confused update: 8O
The heat wave ended up very early yesterday so we had a lot of rain, and I went to supermarket and bookstore and saw one of my ex students at the bus stop. It is sunny again today but nowhere in the last week's temperature range.
Soccer match will be tonight at 9 pm, and the streets around the stadium are to be closed for traffic after 3 pm (half an hour from now) and police will be all around (very high risk match). Yesterday several of the policemen were on the bus with us and they discussed where each will be positioned along the street.
School A: it turned out today is the last day to send applications. I sent them on the very first day after the ad was published, early last week, so I assumed that this week is when they will choose. Nothing will be known from them until next week.
School B: I called them and they completely confused me. There are three options: a) interviews are on Thursday and all applicants should come; b) interviews are on Thursday and I am among those invited to come; c) the deciding committee will meet on Thursday to decide who they will invite and the interview itself will probably be next week. I am going to call them tomorrow to clarify.
School C: Yesterday the principal told me to call today and today she was so occupied that the secretary had to go find her and they told me to call on Friday to see when I should come on Monday. So now the position in the school C looks far less secure than few minutes ago.
BTW they are the school with the good website. I spent few hours reading it. They have a detailed list of school rules and teachers and students alike should not come in sandals or any clothes that does not cover bellies and shoulders; sunglasses, caps, cellphones and music players are forbidden in class, as is any kind of piercing. But the top of their webpage shows four students excitedly reading textbooks, and one of them has clearly visible wires from music player while another has sunglasses on top of her head. what a double message.
They seem to be very into afterschool clubs (there are even cheerleaders which are something unheard over here).
