Ahoy, Maties! Talk Like a Pirate Day

Ever hear of Talk Like a Pirate Day? It takes place September 19th every year. Here is the website:

    Site for teachers:

    Curriculum:

There are name generators, and some classes might make a pirate hat.

We have fun in my classroom with this day as we work. I might have a treasure hunt this year with a treasure chest.

    arrr! Aarrr ye with me?

I didn't know there was a special day! One year, I had about four boys, these are 8th graders mind you, that talked like pirates all year! Drove me bonkers!

Arrrr..... Cool site. One of my colleagues elected to have a bit of a pirate motif this year- the door of our office has been labeled "Captain's Quarters".
Do I mind....nope....I spend a good deal of time playing Sid Meier's "Pirates" on my X-Box....
