Anybody heard of Marvin Marshall?

Hey ya'll,
Has anybody heard of Marvin Marshall and the book "Discipline without Stress..."?
He has a system that is supposed to improve behavior by encouraging students to be responsible for their own behaviors, etc... I teach middle school (7th grade) and we read an article by Marshall and it sounds good- but has anyone ever tried it?
Thanks!

I used it in Kindergarten -- but it is for all ages. In Kindergarten to teach "anarchy, bullying, cooperation and democracy" I did two things besides modeling. I used story books the kids could relate to to understand the behavior.A= Miss Nelson Is Missing; B= Three Pigs; C= Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs and D= The Hole In the Dike.

Along with these I use my BIG word of the week to describe the 4 kinds of behavior and the kids learn it.

I try to focus on good examples of the C and D and have them tell me what theya re doing wrong when they do A or B. It helps them to be responsible.

He was a regular guest at chats on another teacher site. I get his newsletter also. Much good stuff on his site http://www.MarvinMarshall.com

I have never had an opportunity to use it with older kids. I don't use anything else. I love seeing kids take responsibilkity for their actions and recognize when they are doing each of the 4 behaviors
