I once had a belt break and the only substitute to hand was one of those bungee cords with the hooks on the ends. Worked pretty good actually, although I was at the beach with a group of friends and they kept on ribbing me about it....
I always wear a belt. I mean always. If the garment has belt loops, I wear a belt. Well, for whatever reason I did NOT put on my belt this morning. I'm only mildly annoyed by the fact that I have to keep pulling at my pants. Then I go to the restroom, where the button on my pants goes sailing across the restroom floor. And it's a jeans button, not a "sew on" button, so I'm stuck with NO button on my pants. I do have an "emergency" pair of jeans in my closet . . . only they're two sizes larger than what I currently wear--guess I need to update my emergency wardrobe. So, now I'm wearing them . . . and the DO button, but they don't touch me anywhere in the waist, which is basically the same problem I had with the no button ones. My other choice? My huge salty-dog t-shirt and capri sweat pants.
