Between Joel Osteen and Senator Barack Obama.

As the democratic nomination election comes to Texas, Texas has all of a sudden become a crucial part for the race for the Democratic Party presidential nomination.

As the candidates challenge themselves for the heart and minds of Texans, I have come to look closer at senator Barack Obama the Illinois senator vying for the democratic ticket.

I see in Obama a strong similarity with the well known Texas reverend, reverend Joel Osteen of the Lakewood church. From the church pulpit to the political arena, these two individuals in my eyes share similar characteristics in their upliftment of the minds of the ordinary person. What ever message they have, they know how to get it across to everyone.

I know since the recent political dispensation the issue of hope has become of paramount importance to many especially when one hears Senator Barack Obama emphasizing the importance of hope and what it has done in his life and presidential ambitions.

As I watch Obama speak, it vividly reminds me of reverend Joel Osteen.

Joel Osteen has a special aura that captures your attention. I can always remember my cousin who always tell me that the only thing you will do wrong is to watch Joel Osteen speaking. His simple method of capturing your attention is captivating. His choice of words and the tone that convey them is impeccable. Reverend Osteen and senator Obama propel your mind to the acceptance of the impossibilities of life and your ability in realizing them.

That brings us to the issue of hope, that word that a vast majority of us do not always think that can bring the never imagined to reality.

Both distinguished gentlemen tell us the impossibilities that can be made possible. Both tell us that your condition today cannot be as it is but can be changed for the better.

Both stresses and give us a beacon of upliftment in life. I see Obama and Joel Osteen as two individuals that may be in two different isles but who know how to stir the deepest resources of our minds.

It is not surprising that their message even though from two different spheres of life is drawing the attention of Americans in record numbers.

If these two individuals are harvesting our inner minds and our belief in accomplishing impossibilities why do we have a reason to doubt them? I think that every American is ready for a positive change in this country.

Again from senator Obama and revered Joel Osteen one can see that it is not good to have a low standard in your goal in life but to always aim high for the best, work hard towards it and see the result. They both put you in a state of mind where you really want to get up and turn a new chapter in your life or even in your history.

When you have hope definitely you turn the page of history. Remember being hopeful should not for any reason mean setting your sights and standards low. Who says we cannot make change happen in this country? Yes we can!!!

I don't usually comment on political posts on this site, mostly because politics can bring out the angst in people and we are pretty peaceable here. But I am gonna make an exception here.

I don't really know who I am going to vote for in November. It won't be Hillary Rodham Clinton. I will eat broken glass first.

What we do NOT need is more of the "same" that we have had for the last several years.

We need someone who will steer us away from the world of fear and divisiveness that some bad people have guided us into without leaving us vulnerable. That is gonna require some real leadership.

Right now, I am leaning towards mcCain, but who knows what november brings?

ahhhh politics and religion in the same post

I'm not overly fond of anyone running for office currently. AND I haven't been the entire political season.

Favoring Mr. Osteen would NOT be the deciding factor I'm afraid.

Obama and Olsteen both speak well. I do not know who I will vote for, but being good speakers would not be enough of a reason for me to vote for him. My hope does not lie in an earthly being. They ae capable of shattering it.

but as I think all will agree....talk is cheap. Inspiring speeches will not be enough. It is going to take almost superhuman leadership abilities to undo the harm that has been done in the nation and in the world.I have to wonder if any of them are up to it...

yes, talk is cheap. and Mr. Obama's supporters, when pressed, had a hard time remembering what he'd accomplished in office.

But he is an inspiring speaker.

AND again - there is no candidate I have felt led to endorse this political season. NONE.

Obama is young and relatively new to politics. He had said he woud serve his full term as our senator and not run for president, and then changed his mind. He is linked to a court case of Tony Rezko, but so are some other notable politicians. Could Obama be an honest politician? We have Mayor Daley of Chicago, who had Meigs Field bulldozed at midnight with no prior notice. Stories of corruption abound. Move to Cook County, and listen to all the talk about the Stroger family. Dad was in very poor health and son Todd was eased into his office with Dad's name still on the ballot. Now son takes the shenanigans to new levels. Former Gov. George Ryan is in jail for his corruption. Current Gov. Blago spends and spends like there is no tomorrow, and is known as A in some case. Illinois and corruption through and through.
