    Cascade

I haven't been on here for a while, but am really sorry to say that Cascade the budgie addicted to Teacherfocus.com has passed away. He died in my arms, snuggling me, on 15/1/07.

I will miss him and still miss him alot.

I bought another budgie, whom I called Tenzing and we are still getting to know each other.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of you bird. It is good to see you back here posting.

Thank you for the beautiful pictures you posted of both birds. Your green bird is the color Grandpa had for his parakeet, Timmy. Grandpa was from Norway and had tons of tattoos down his arms and hands. Even in his 70's and 80's, he went around the house in his sleeveless undershirts and trousers. He kept his muscular build well into old age. He was a rather gruff, intimidating man, but so tender while interacting with Timmy. He spoke in his bird talk and spent hours trying to teach the bird to talk. How he loved his bird. Timmy would fly around the house and land on Grandpa's shoulders or glasses. Timmy finally died and he had a few other birds, but not of them compared with Timmy. One flew out the door while someone was entering, and another one died flying into the window.

I hope that you and your new bird develop your own special relationship as time goes on.
