Well, I did it by reducing the photo and uploading it to my photobucket place. . . I named it the same thing the old one was named. So, the photo worked on the site but I still don't see the words well in other posts. Live and learn. sigh

Ummmm... we just took our Halloween decorations down today, and daughter just reminded me her bday is this Saturday (I totally forgot and was thinking it was next Saturday, so I don't have anything prepared at all yet), don't have a clue what we are going to do for Thanksgiving and are not nearly at the stage where we can start thinking about that yet (need to get through daughter's bday first) ..... so, noooooo, no Christmas ideas here a'tall......

My mom makes really cute bell ornaments with beads. She's made enough to decorate an entire LARGE tree, and she's also given away lots of them and sold a few. I've made a few of them, but it's been so many years ago I'd never remember how to do it.
When we drag out the Christmas stuff I'll post a picture of them.

I'll add my fall back idea but it seems so lame after looking at Paulie's ornaments. If you can get the silver Christmas balls, you can paint them with ordinary water colour paint and a thin brush. When it dries the silver shimmers through the paint. My sister painted a beautiful snow scene on one of hers. I painted some snowflakes on mine. I do this as a craft in my Kindergarten class, too. The children paint all over with no thought to picture, they just paint. They (the balls, not the children) look like a disgusting mess when the paint is wet but when the paint dries, there are swirls of colour with silver glinting through. The paint stays on for years--my folks still have the first few that we did 25 years ago.
I guess you could go to town and recreate a Mondriaan or Monet but that just seems too hard for someone who is artistically challenged. 8)
If you can't be kind, at least be vague.
That reminded me I have a sequined bell made during the first Gulf War. . . I did not make it tho. Is this like what your Mom makes, Ima Teacher? My mom makes really cute bell ornaments with beads. It is not a good photo becaue there is a shadow but wanted to know if this was the type. . . I do want to see your Mom's photo tho. I love Christmas and snow crafts! I guess that is why I ahve my tree up all year long. Too good to hide all year and bring out for a month and then think of it as a chore to put away for another year.

Paulie I would like to the the bell you were talking about. I will try to see it at the photo bucket link on your post.
Here are the bells my mom makes. She uses all kinds of combinations of bead colors. I really like the transparent faceted ones. They really sparkle with the tree lights.
