DH has changed jobs again . . .

As of last night, DH has changed jobs once again.

If you remember, the band that he'd been playing lead guitar with for the past 10 years disbanded in March of this year.

Then he decided to try to get his own band together . . . posted some of their music a couple of weeks ago. Well, they can't get a bass player who will commit full time, the lead singer only knows old songs, and drummer--unreliable, too, I might add--let them know that she wouldn't play in bars.

After all that fiasco on Saturday with the other band, DH was quite discouraged. When we got home, he had an email from someone wanting him to play bass. After some emails and calls with the drummer, DH went for an audition last night. He was nervous because he'd gone from playing lead guitar with a male singer to playing bass guitar with a female singer . . . and he's had less than 24 hours to prepare.

Turns out that the lead player knew DH, and when we arrived at the auditon, he called DH by name and added, "I've been wanting to get you to play with me for two years, but I didn't know where to find you." After the audition he told DH the job was his if he wanted it. DH jumped at the chance.

There really wasn't a choice to be made . . . keep working to START a band or join an established band who is actually working.

I have a good feeling about it, but DH is still a bit nervous because it's a big change.

I know one thing, they sounded really good for a first get-together, and the lead singer certainly does have the right "look" for a singer . . . and she can really sing, too.

Thats' great! You both must be so relieved...not having a job is stressful. Best of luck to him, it must have been a great ego booster to have the other guy say that he's been waiting for him for two years.
    Yay for you guys!

I won't repeat exactly what one of DH's friends said. ops:

She looked a lot different in her capris, t-shirt, and ponytail last night . . . very cute, still, but more like the rest of us.

I was thinking that you will be going to a lot of his playing engagements with that picture!

Glad that your hubby has been recruited and that the band has a great sound. Quite an ego-booster for your husband!

Her husband is the lead guitar player, so I'm not too worried. I'll not get to see his play as often with this group because they play more often and farther away then he has before.
