    Finger Foods?

We often have to take "finger foods" to church or school, and I'm terribly bored with all of the typical ones that I usually take. If you've got any good finger food ideas, please post them so I can make a list.

    Here's what we've got so far . . .

There are always tons of chips, dips, veggie trays, fruit trays, cheeseballs, crackers, and sandwiches--ham, turkey, pb & j, pimento cheese, chicken salad, tuna salad, and egg salad. There are also always tons of sweets.

    Mom always takes deviled eggs.

I usually take sausage balls. Today I'm "branching out" and taking "smokies" wrapped in cresent roll dough.

So . . . any other suggestions? My big problem is that I don't really like meats, especially anything ground up or mixed with anything else. I also don't generally eat "salad" type things ike chicken/tuna/egg salad so I don't know what kinds of things "regular" people eat. LOL

    Suggestions, please!!

    Maybe popcorn?

I recently discovered cinnamon microwave popcorn. Truthfully, all by itself it isn't that great, but if you mix it with some kettle corn, it is a FABULOUS treat.

What I usually do for our church potlucks is go to the store and get the individually wrapped string cheese. I put these in a couple of glasses as they fit between serving dishes easily without taking up any space. They are low in calories and carbs and nutritious. They are snatched up each and every time as they are something most kids like when there is other food they don't want to eat.

    bacon wrapped water chestnuts

Do a google search for recipes, there are many variations. I personally like the ones with a sweet tomato based sauce.

    I like to take pinwheels

cover ham slices with cream cheese and put a green onion at the end. Slowly roll it up. Make a bunch of them, put them in the freezer to harden for about a half hour, then slice them. THey are pretty and tasty and low carb

Heres' one of our favorites -- have no clue what to call it but everyone loves it.

Get several packages of lebanon balogna and some soft cream cheese. Layer 3-4 slices of balogna with cream cheese spread between layers. Then cut in triangles. For an extra kick, you can spread a little horseradish along with the cream cheese.

It's yummy and you can make a lot in a pretty short period of time. But make a bunch cause they'll go fast.
