HELP I need a "Grace" fix

I need to see Grace and Maddy and other babies/toddlers/little kiddos or even big kiddos.

I've been so swamped that I haven't even been here to read in weeks. Two more weeks and I'm taking time off -- long story but we've got MIL moving from GA to here. She's got alzheimers, broke her neck last fall (had surgery and is recovered), broke her hip last week (had surgery and is still having complications) and is so confused. Poor thing hasn't a clue what's going on. Driving 9 hours each way back and forth to GA is killing DH and me. So we're moving her up here and she may have to stay with us for a while till the nursing home has a vacancy.

So I don't think I'll be teaching many online classes next semester and those I am going to teach will most likely not be the intensive grad courses but will be grad pd courses that are only 4, 6 or 8 wks long. Won't make a final decision till next week -- we have some arrangements to look into this weekend. Meanwhile, I'm still plodding along with the doctorate program. I've got five courses done, got four more to go, then everything is dissertation courses. I'm hoping to be ABD by Jan 07 and DONE by Dec 07. That's the plan for now.

Anyhow -- I'll be back visiting here every week in about two more weeks. Miss everyone here like crazy!! Hope all is well.

PLEASE post some kiddie pix for me??? Pretty please??

Oh by the way -- anybody live near Asheville NC? I'll be down there for a week starting May 13th. I'm doing a conference presentation on Monday afternoon but DH and I are taking the rest of the week as vacation before MIL moves in (if she's already here, she's staying with DH's younger brother and his family that week).

Doggie is still doing okay. She's had two more surgeries to remove skin tumors and the vet said she's outlived any other dog she's ever seen with this kind of cancer. She's acting fine, eats well, and is still gaining weight. Vet said new research shows safflower oil (4 oz twice a week) slows down this kind of cancer. So maybe that's what's helping. We're just takinga day at a time and glad she's still not in any discomfort.

Funny, I was thinking of posting for Grace pics also!

I was looking for some pics of our dearie, also. Perhaps we will get some of her dressed up for Easter with a bonnet, or hunting for some eggs. (hint-hint)

Glad to hear what you have been up to. So sorry about MIL and her difficulties. It must be difficult for you all around.

Some places offer placement just for Alzheimers. Hope she will do okay. It is so hard to see dear loved ones change, so that they are not like we know them. So sad.

Well, not exactly...my dad has a rental house in Hot Springs about 40 miles NW in Madison County. If you are out roaming about, go up there and look at the view- it's quite spectacular, and lots of tourists stop just to take pictures. Check the link in my profile if you want a preview and directions. BTW, I hope your other difficulties are as light as possible.
