Yes, isn't it terrific when they go to state?!

Is career day at Kishwaukee? I love that campus. I went to NIU the first year of college and marriage, and will never forgive them. They made my hubby sign permission for me to live off campus my freshman year of college. Of all the nerve!

Schedule changes, tests several grade levels higher then abilities, end of quarter...hellloooooo.

    Yes, it's there

Have you been to Kish since they added on? I live 10 mi. north of NIU on the main road leading into campus. Even though it's a county road, it's like a superhighway for people going to DeKalb or to the tollway. So much for the quiet country life! Testing is going on, so I'm typing VERY quietly. SHHHH!!! Kish

It's been about 6 years since I have been at Kish. I have not seen the super highway. I keep telling myself that I will take the side roads now that the tolls have doubled, and hubby doesn't want IPass. I go to a family funeral on Saturday in Wheaton and Justice.

I am typing as quietly as I can!

    Superhighway

Actually, it's Annie Glidden Rd., but honestly the traffic is horrible. Plus, I live at the top of a hill and idiots pass on it all the time. Hubby hates bringing his farm equipment up the road, but he has no choice. Oh, and we avoid the tollways as much as possible. I thing Gov. B has been to Florida and is trying to outdo their tolls, something I would have thought was impossible! Karen

We lived in Amber Manor Apartments, which was east of Annie Glidden, if I remember correctly! Small world.

    Amber Manor!?!

My sister and a roommate lived there the summer of 1977. It USED to be a nice place. Karen

Hey y'all. My daughter is a NIU presently. She's a music/music ed major! I've been very impressed with the school, though DeKalb needs to get more restaurants.

    Happy coincidences

Hey, just a year ago I had to go to Rockford for everything. Now Sycamore road is resembling E. State St. If you go to the Junction, Spring Garden, or Egg Haven that's where we deliver eggs. We're getting more restaurants every week it seems, but not downtown. Of course, you can't beat Rosita's or Eduardo's downtown. And for dessert, head out further towards Sycamore, by the old K-Mart and have Ollie's Custard!! They opened on March 1 and there's nothing like one of their rootbeer floats! Karen

    Yum

Rosita's is good! We had a few rehearsal dinners hosted there over the years.
