    How to make my day...

Graduation rehearsal was today at the Alamodome (sports arena that is not used for sports). I arrived and was not sure where I needed to go, so I approached a security guard and said I was there for my school's graduation rehearsal.

He tried to line me up with the graduating seniors 8)

I've been all smiles ever since!
I've heard that four out of every three people have trouble with fractions.

    How nice!

One of my students asked me how old I was. I'm not proud, I told him.

His reponse? Wow! You don't look THAT old!

I thought it was pretty funny. I'm glad I don't look as old as I really am, but it's kinda sobering to be THAT old!

What fun! Always a spirit lifter!

    That is a smile-maker, Mary.

One of my favorite students for the past few years (since he was in third grade) said to me last month, "Ms. kds, you have old lady hands!" I said, "That's because I'm 44, ohstudentofmine". He literally dropped his mouth open and was aghast - apparently, that's about the age of his GRANDMOTHER!!!!! Ack. Who woulda thunk it that 44 is old lady material? (ok, when I was a kid I would have, too!)

Oh, and I'm actually now weirdly offended when I don't get carded at the grocery store when buying wine! They stopped doing that about 2 years ago and although I'm not usually one to bother at all about that kind of thing, it really irritated me when they stopped! I must have really gotten a boost out of that carding when they did it!
