Mine peaked 25 years after I was born and has been going down hill since. My middle name peaked in 1900. LOL Neat site, Tom!

Zelma was at its most popular in the 1900s, but next to nothing since 1950. Perhaps I am the only Zelma named since then. Sad huh?

Zelma -- maybe you aren't the only one. I've actually met two other Bitsys in my 46 years, but of course they were both nicknames. I've met lots of pets named Bitsy over the years. I'm holding out hope though that I'm not alone the people department.

There was a girl named Bitsy in the book Fifteen by Beverly Cleary... she was said to be very nice and cute

I thought Zelma is an ethnic name? I believe Selma (with S) is a common name among Bosnian Moslims.

Well Mary was #1 until the 60s, when it dropped to #2. It's been downhill ever since, but it's still at 61.

Interesting site ;-) I was surprised to see that my name was beginning to become popular, even for girls and even spelled the way I spelled it, around the time I was born -- I wonder where everyone else was :?: 'cuz they sure weren't in my classes at school.

And Zelma, I do know another Zelma
