    I am so cranky lately!

We have only 12 days of school left and the last three are half days. I am just about fed up with my students whining about grades and why we are STILL learning. It seems every little thing gets on my last nerve. (Today alone, I must've went through 20 last nerves!)

    Anyone else cranky?
I've heard that four out of every three people have trouble with fractions.

I'm plenty cranky, but not about students. I had one of the best Statistics classes ever.

Seems this week in San Antonio was "All Idiots and 18-Wheelers Have a Wreck During Rush Hour" day. I'm cranky about that.

I'm cranky about the slow hiring process of school districts. Cranky about dumb paper applications. I decided not to apply or attend a job fair on this basis. Cranky that I may be stuck in my current job for a while.

Cranky about construction on Bandera Road.

Cranky about some of my wife's spending habits. Cranky that her stupid little dog isn't always house-broken.

On the other hand, there are some more job fairs coming, and I know that there will be more resignations, retirements, etc. before July 4th or 11th. That gives me reason to get hold of myself. A principal won't want to hire a cranky teacher.

MM: I understand! I could get an award for crankiness this past week. I will not be in school Mon and Tues due to some meetings I have to attend. Perhaps that will give me the break I need.

I did get some good news yesterday. I will have 2 sections of Pre-Calculus next year and 4 sections of Algebra 2. Next year will be such a nice change from this year (I can barely stand freshmen and the topics that freshmen must learn).

Why, cranky is one of my many middle names! Along with, but certainly not limited to, mean, nasty, unfair, strict, weird, boring. You get the picture.

I am going in with my eyes wide open. I'm just thankful that I won't be teaching content that bores me to tears! I get excited about Pre-Cal and Algebra 2 (and Calculus, but that is still a few years off) so it's easy to motivate my students.

I'm really glad I'm not the only cranky one!
