    I should probably knock wood---

Things seem to be calming down around here. My FIL should be coming home from the hospital sometime over the weekend. His pneumonia has cleared up, and they're treating him by oral antibiotics for the infected incision on his leg. He's still getting tired pretty easily, but they say he's doing well.

DH isn't in a panic--yet anyway--about his consultation with the oral surgeon on Monday. My college roommate works at that office, and she offered to pull some strings and get him in for an earlier appointment . . .but he said NO THANKS!!

My dad's hand is hurting--arthritis--but it's looking better. He can't take his arthritis meds because of his kindney condition. Poor guy! DH and I are going to go wax his truck for him tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

All the dogs and fish are well, all the people who were due to pick up their freecycle stuff have done so, I got to go to the bookstore today, and DH & I both got haircuts. (I said, "Do whatever." today, so my dark brown shoulder-length hair with the grown-out highlights is now right at my earlobes and DARK AUBURN. 8O )

Now, if I can just get the garage cleaned out, we'll be in business!

About your dad's arthritis, this is an old hearth remedy that works really well for mine (yay for being 21 and having arthritis):

Make cinnamon tea -- three cinnamon sticks to every cup of water.
*once the water, in a pan of course, is boiling, throw in the sticks
*reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes

If he can stand the tast of strong cinnamon, he should drink a cup of this every two to the hours. This helps cut down the inflamation of the joints. If he can't stand the flavor, have him use the hot tea (not hot enough to boil, however) as a hot-pack on his wrist for 15 minutes every two to three hours.

This doesn't work for everyone, but it does help some. It can also be used for other join inflamations AND muscle cramps. (Big wink to all you other ladies out there if you know what I'm hinting at.)
