Just wanted to find out how your dog was doing lately.

Also, is your mother doing any better with her stress concerning your dad and her seizure frequency? Hoping life is a little bit easier in that respect for her.

Gene's doing much better. He's on a special low-carb diet, and he's taking 12 units of insulin three times per day. He's much perkier, and his ketones are almost normal. He's not minding the shots much, but he absolutely HATES it when they have to catch his urine.

Dad's doing great on his dialysis, and he's filling out the paperwork for his transplant. They say he's in great shape for one. He's even working in his woodshop again and planning fishing trips.

Mom's upped her seizure medication because it was too low. She's still had more seizures than normal, but the medication may need some time to build up in her system. She's considering going back to her neurologist to see if she needs to have another medication added to her current ones.

Seems like we might have everyone on the mend.

    Thanks for asking about everyone!

That is good to hear! Your folks have had a long haul. I hope that your father finds a good match for his transplant in the near future. He seems to have a good attitude and getting back to his interests might be just what your mother needs. :-)
