Improve your vocabulary while you accumulate free rice

Freerice.com is a simple site with vocabulary words for you to select the correct definition. For each correct answer the sponsors donate 10 grains of rice to the hungry. There are 50 levels of difficulty and it adjusts depending upon your correct answers.

Re: Improve your vocabulary while you accumulate free rice

I collected 1010 grains before I started having 5-6 wrong answers in a row. It seems that my level is 28-31.
How much is 1010 grains anyway? Hmm... back to the cupboard

After 1700 grains, I came up with a 45. I think there are 7,000 grains to a pound....although I could be wrong on that....

I got to 1000 grains of rice - and averaged 42-43, but I did hit 46 at one point. Yay!

What a neat site - I am a word nerd anyway, and it is for a good cause, too!

I'm going to pass it on to my team. Happy turkey day to everyone - let's all be thankful that we have enough to eat, and try to help others who could use our help both close to home and far away.

Thank you for the site! Finally something to do while I watch my husband play Halo weekend nights... and I feel great doing it.

It pegs out at level 50; I gave up trying to get higher at 880 grains of rice.

Neat idea though, and I can see some real potential for a similar software package that would let me set up something similar for the kids I work with. Thanks for pointing it out, Bananas!
