Welcome to Teacher Focus Dr. Z.

I hope you will find our growing community of educators to be interesting and supportive.

I wish I had a more "distinguished" image to present to you other than my scruffy pirate to the left ... but when all is said and done - that's what I am ... a scruffy pirate (elementary) teacher.

Aye and ter be sure, sink me if that don't be so!

With your distinguished background, I hope you'll be able to share some of your opinions in the higher education and special education forums. You're also welcome to share your insights and experience with new teachers at my forum, the New Teachers' Place.

    Regards,

I'm really just Nancy but I love the chic"ness" of

Born and Raised in Souhwestern Virginia; trained as a fine artist (representational) in high school; wanted to scurry to Paris to become a fashion designer for large women's fashions (If I'd done that, I'd be a millionaire right now). Completed a degree in Graphic Design and Computer Graphics and now am a teacher of the same PLUS commercial printing. I love what I do and c'est la vie! ... so Paris is but a dream now, best experienced through the Discovery channel.

Hi and welcome to TeacherFocus. I see you're in Richmond?? I'm in Chesterfield Co. I taught in Richmond for 4 years and Chesterfield for 10 before moving on to college teaching. What school are you in? Have you been in the area for a while? I saw Southwestern VA in your intro -- have some very good friends down in Wise County.

    Nice to meetcha
