We start our state tests next week, so we're getting all geared up for our "testing rally" on Friday. We always have a theme for the year. This year's theme is "Git-R-Done". Yesterday morning on the announcements we were told to wear our best "redneck" outfits. From the back of the room I hear one of the kids say, "Exactly how will that be different from any other day?" True, we're a rural school, so we're pretty much full up with good ol' boys/girls all the time. Plus, my hubby (city boy) says that part of the teachers look like they got off the tractor and came on it to work as is.
Well, this is better than the year we used "Move It Up 5" as our theme. We had cutouts of hands all over the building to remind them of the "5" thing. It only took a few days before half of the hands in the hallway were reduced to one finger. Sigh. . . just another typical middle school thing.

We test next week -- the week after our accrediting team leaves. AND tonight is the secondary school performing arts festival. No rallys -- which I guess also means no fingers -- well that IS a good thing
But it's also meant no tests for the material we've covered for two weeks. I'm wondering if they'll remember anything we've covered when I can give a test or just to not give one. Fourth quarter is tough on grading!
