    It's up and running!

I'm not sure what the protocol here is, but I am so excited I can't stand it. I have been working on a way to supplement my teaching salary, as many of us do. However, instead of selling tupperware, Mary Kay cosmetics or Pampered Chef (lots of teachers at my school do those), I decided to try to sell my own artwork (photography) online. It's a gamble and I sure hope it works!

At any rate, check it out if you are interested (sites linked in my 'signature'). There may be some way you could use some of the photos in your teaching, you never know. Or for sheer pleasure if something strikes your fancy! And please feel free (nice way of begging pleeeeeeze!) to pass on my website address to anyone you know that may be interested in seeing it.

I also have 5 photos on exhibit today at the community college open house. It was exciting and weird setting them up last night! This is a completely new venture for me! I have always just taken photos as a hobby, so doing it for "real" is completely new to me.

I like the picture of the old country store.

I knew an Australian who did this to supplement her income as a teacher's aide. The only thing was that she worked in Saudi Arabia - so her pictures were quite unusual and distinct ... pictures of the desert, photographs of the Bedouin etc.

In Saudi Arabia it was forbidden to take pictures of people. She managed to take pictures of Arab souqs (open air markets), Bedouin tribesmen, and so forth. Since she and her husband enjoyed camping, she also had a lot of really nice pictures of the desert

A lot of the pictures in my photo album from the seven years I spent in Dhahran and Ras Tanura were purchased from this woman.

Best wishes to you in your venture.

Question: Are you including sales tax for anyone purchasing pictures from within your state? If you haven't done this, you may want to do it. State revenue offices can become downright nasty with part time businesses that don't file or pay the state sales tax.
