Merry Christmas to you, Zhel, on your celebration!

So that's how Santa does it!
I've heard that four out of every three people have trouble with fractions.
Actually yes, the church is using Julian calendar instead of Gregorian, so all dates are about 12-13 days apart... As Christmas is on a fixed date, there are always exactly 12 days between the two Christmases. Some people say they represent the 12 months of the year and that you can estimate the weather for the following year by taking notes of weather during these days 8O (it seems we will have an early spring and rain here and there during summer and autumn).Originally Posted by Tom (Houston)
The Easter dates are different, as they are tied to moon phases, so in some years the two Easters are on the same day and in some years they may be as much as a month apart.
This Christmas was funny because it was so warm (actually we had March weather, 6-10 degrees Celsius); there was absolutely no snow. I wonder when the trees will start blooming?
Mmmm... the Christmas feast... the stuffed carp was wonderful, and the roast chicken was absolutely perfect, including the most perfect roast chicken smell I ever sensed with my nose. We had various cookies and icecream, and my mother made her apple pie (yum!)
