Thread: More computer talk- Do you use a Browser OTHER than Explorer

I use "Safari" mainly, and FireFox is good. I don't know think Safari will run on a PeeCee, but I hear good things about FireFox. Good luck as you continue to rise fromthe ashes

I keep trying other ones. I used mozilla foxfire for a while, but it wasn't compatible with lots of things. Never could get used to netscape.

I keep returning to explorer.

you can download foxfire for free at the mozilla site.

Safari isn't compatible with PCs as far as I know.

And yes, Bitsy is correct--Safari won't work on a Windoze machine, but other Mozilla-based ones will. I wouldn't bother with Netscrape either.

I got a MAC laptop for Christmas but my kids messed up my destop with games and theinternet...I'd prefer to keep my gateway for them and they;ll leave my MAC alone!

Why use Win98? Its so primitive compared to XP. I rarely have crashes or conflicts with XP.
Anyway I pretty much use Netscape to the exclusion of MS Explorer.
No special reason other than I like the bookmark filing system better and just habitat. When I first started getting online images I was using Mozilla- the original. I'm a creature of habit.
Heck I might still be using gopher and archie as search engines

I use Mozilla, for the same reason as a previous user, I've used Netscape forever and it was easy to make the switch. I love the tabbed browsing. I don't have Win 98, I either have 2000 or NT (eeek, can't believe I don't remeber) and I've never had a problem with Mozilla.

and why do some of us use both Lisa? Cause our school got the dang 'pc' deal". althought I do keep my mac laptop set up on the projector at school, but can't get it on the network without WinMac stuff on it.

actually, the compac laptop I have is not a bad machine - the only pee -u cee I've ever felt any affection for. I hated the Dell's and Gateways issued by schools before this Compac.

any other cross platform folks take the trash can and my computer icons on a pc and move them to the right side of the desktop????? Wish there was a way to change the start menu to look like the doc on OS 10. lol
