Haven't hear of it before, but it sounds interesting
I am not sure what thread this is but here is my question. Somewhere I read about an ornament, an apple I think, decorated to look like a globe. Does anyone know how to do this or how to make it?
I would love to know how it is done or how to do it.

Unsure how to do it with a REAL apple, but...
You can do it with styrofoam "apples" (we have bells and hearts and balls etc here) Grab a styrofoam shape and using a felt pen color it in red (or green I suppose) Using wedding dress pins (those teeny little silver dot ones) pin on red (or green) sequins until the "apple" is covered. If you want to be REAL fancy you can use fancy shaped sequins or put a bead between the pin and sequin.
I'll see if I can find the book I have with Christmas crafts in it. There are some styrofoam balls that look AWESOME They have a night sky one and a world one. Real cool.
When my sister was a baby (this is going back 18 years now) I made a giant styrofoam ball and we hung it off hte light. Every time Mum changed her nappy we'd spin the ball for her and she'd go all crosseyed.

I've studded a real orange with cloves and let it dry for a real pretty and aromatic natural oranment. The kiddies kinf get sore tumbs after awhile. Key limes might be cute.....

I taped a piece of cardboard on to their thumbs with a bandaid. It helped a lot!!!

I think the orange would smell nice. Particularly with the cloves. How long did it last before it went off?
The one time I made them, it did indeed smell heavenly, but it seems that if you stud the orange really thickly with the cloves, it just dried out. I'd hazard a guess that if you let the finished orange air dry for.....a month?..... It may well last indefinitely.Originally Posted by Xyphir
